We took a much-needed vacation to New Mexico last week. We had such a wonderful time. Good food, weather, interesting people, beautiful scenery. Judson and Jackson had a great time with Gramma K and Great-Grandma Luetta. (will post pics from that later).
A semi fire at Clines Corner, NM. We have no idea what happened or if anyone was hurt, but you could see the smoke for miles. Once the gas tanks started to pop and sizzle, we decided to head on up to Santa Fe.
Shane and I under the arbor at our bed and breakfast. We stayed at the Cottonwood Inn. Our hosts were originally from Houston. The host, Brantly, was a geologist turned B&B owner in Toas. He is now living the simple life. Their 2-story adobe home is beautiful.
The entrance and the B&B.
Cool doors at the neighboring house. I wanted to steal them, but didn't have a pick-up. :)
We had fresh eggs from these lovely gals every morning. The rooster on the bale was a bit aggressive, and tried to chase us.
They painted the crazy-aggressive rooster on one of their lounge chairs...kind of funny!
Yummy wood-fired pizza from one of our favorite restaurants this trip.
Scene from our table at the pizzaria.
Taos Ski Valley was about 20˚ cooler than in the valley. BEAUTIFUL and lush.
Mountain Stream.
Funny sign up in Ski Valley. (Notice the weeds/grass...they do not mow much in these parts.)
View from the "Stakeout Restaurant."
Hummingbirds. They were everywhere, so many different kinds, too. They were so fun to watch. Our B&B had at least 10 feeders. And there were at least 25-30 buzzing around us on the patio. They can be a little nasty to each other.
Chille peppers. They are everywhere.
